Joseph was baptized on 8 April 1777 in St.Peter
and St.Felix Parish Church, about 3 miles from the farm. |

He married Ann Healey (1782-1822) on 21 May 1800 in Rochdale. They had 12 children: |

Joseph died of cholera on 16 May 1848
while visiting his brother Thomas at his home on Cheetham Street in Wardleworth
at the age of 71. His family was devastated. In 1851, Mary Ann and some
of the children emigrated to Utah.
Death Registration

Joseph was buried in May 1848 in the Drake Street Cemetery
in Rochdale where his brother and family were also buried.
